What's the better hotel to stay at if you are from out of town?

I want to hit up all the tourist attractions in Houston, which hotel makes more sense to stay at? Flying into the airport where I'll get a rental car. Any recommendations help too (cost is a factor)

Renaissance Hotel - 6 Greenway Plaza E, Houston

Houston Marriott Westchase - 2900 Briarpark Dr. (Galleria), Houston

Hilton Houston Southwest - 6780 Southwest Freeway, HoustonWhat's the better hotel to stay at if you are from out of town?
The closest to the Galleria is the Houston Hilton Southwest.

The Westchase Marriott is only a few miles, but traffic on Westheimer is awful. Figure 15-20 minutes. Greenway Plaza is five miles from the Galleria off of Highway 59. Also heavy traffic.

Any special reason you want to stay in the Galleria? If you have a rental car you can stay anywhere you want. What's the better hotel to stay at if you are from out of town?
Houston Marriott is cool to stay at

But the Galleria is so congested and because you are coming from out of town it can be very confusing.

Perhaps you should consider somewhere that is not so congested
I dont know why you guys gave the Derek two thumbs down--it is actually the same price if you get it on hotels.com as any hilton, or marriott, and its really nice.... Plus she can walk to the galleria without having to look for parking. The Hilton SW is a REALLY shady neighboorhood. I rented a car from there once and it was scary.

Try hotels.com and figure out what area you want to stay in--I wouldnt stay all the way on the North side you will spend the majority of your time driving!
Hotel Derek on 610 and Westheimer by the Galleria is good!
Try a Hampton Inn. They are owned by Hilton %26amp; cost less.

In regards to booking a hotel in New York City, that depends on the hotel. There is not set standard, therefore, some hotels will have an ';18 and over'; policy, while other will have a ';21 and over'; policy.

If you are under 18, you cannot book hotel room in New York City.

Below is a list of hotel, where the minimum age to book a room is 18.

  • Could i pay a hotel just to use the shower?

I'm going on a 3 day bus ride from British Columbia, Canada to Fort Smith, Arkansas during the holidays to go see a friend, and unfortunately im taking the bus lol... i hate going without showering, i feel so grubby... so i was just wondering if its possible that i could go to a hotel and pay to use the shower for like an hour and not have to actually pay the price for a room? Do they do that? My mom said some do, but.. well, i dont know about believing her haha. Thanks.Could i pay a hotel just to use the shower?
You never know until you ask. If the town is large enough, try their YWCA or a community center with a gym or an aquatic center.Could i pay a hotel just to use the shower?
Depends on where you go... I usually drive from the west coast to the east coast and I like to stop to freshen up and not sleep. I have stopped at a Marriott before and it was 20 dollars for an hour in the room as long as I didn't do anything but shower, I used a motel 6 and it was 10 for an hour, Red Roof in was 10 an hour and I think a spent 20 at a days in.

States I remember using them in. Texas, NM, Missouri and NJ.
I have never heard of such a thing! I don't see a problem with asking though. i would just call some random hotels around those areas and ask. Some people on here may say ya they do but maybe only certain places do it...i hate that feeling too. if you can't figure something out take a crapload of those like fresh wipe things lol
the price of the room. Because they have to hire the maid to clean it, so its one flat fee. You could try going to a gym and telling them u want try it out, go walk on the treadmill for 5 to make it look like ur trying then take a shower. lol most gyms don't charge for the first day
some will allow this as they have separate showers from the rooms may be at their gym or pool but ask the bus driver where you stop as there is probably showers available on the way. some of the road side stops will have showers. Just remember to take a towel with you
I think it just depends on the hotel and the owners or who ever was working there that day. I don't see how it could be a problem if you also paid. You could find out the near hotels near your stops and call in and ask, but it's up to you.
    Are u serious

I don鈥檛 think hotel will allow you only for shower

But I advice you check the hotel which they have gym %26amp; swimming pool service they have the guest entry for gym %26amp; swimming for an hour base fees very small amount

Check the price %26amp; enjoy your gym swimming %26amp; bath lol

    Good luck
Find a public pool and ask for a day pass. Or find a gym and see if they will give you a free trial. Asking a hotel if you can use a room for an hour will probably get you mistaken for a prostitute.
I don't believe they do, but you can always call the hotels ahead of time...

Or you could buy some ';Dry Shampoo'; (shampoo you spray on your hair and brush out) and some personal wipes....

Unglamorous, but it would do the trick...
well you could find a hotel that is sorta outdoor so you can go around back with a pool and u can see if its the door is open or if it needs a key and u can put on ur suit and use the pool shower LOL seriously
I never heard of hotels doing that and I have been in the travel industry. But you could go to the big truck stops and pay for a shower.
most likely. but they may make you pay for the whole night cause they have to clean and they want your money. call around to some that are on your bus thing or whatever and ask. cant hurt.
i dont really know but u can try but the thing i luv about the hotel is the shower i luv all of the little shampos they give u dont u oh and have fun with ur friend ober the holidays
Some places will allow you to rent rooms hourly. I'd assume many of these places are by highways because of all their transient guests.
Well you could ask them but i doubt they will let you or just stay at the hotel for a day, if they do that so its cheaper
probably not a regular hotel or anything about 2 stars. lol. I do think a hotel without that much traffic would let you..
I've never heard of that but some rest stops have showers. Of course, some of those showers are gross but still an option.
    yes....

but that hotel management may have cams......in.
Bring a bathing suit and go swimming
i don't think so. but some small hotels might need all the money they can get and let you
    rest stops
call ahead of time and ask
    no?
No they dont Ill let you pay to use my shower
    i dk but interesting q ... :P

What's the best hotel near the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica?

We're flying to San Jose, Costa Rica with 2 little kids and are arriving late in the evening. I want to go to a decent reliable hotel that's close to the airport. I was thinking of the Costa Rica Marriott Hotel San Jose, though it's a little expensive...

Any recommendations? What's the best hotel near the airport in San Jose, Costa Rica?
Yes, the Costa Rica Marriott is 15 Minutes from the airport bit very expensive. Just 5 Minutes from the airport there is a Hampton INn %26amp; Suites (apartments) or the Garden Court (used to be Hampton Inn). Melia Cariari or Ramada Herradura are also 15 Minutes. They are both reliable and not too expensive. Also there are some small locally owned hotels near the airport as Mango Hotel, Hotel Aeropuerto, and some in the city of Alajuela. But if you want to go with something of US Standars, go with the two mentioned. Good luck!
