Would you rather board your pet at a national chain or a mom & pop pet hotel?

Would you be more comfortable leaving your pet with a major brand name such as PetsHotel, or with leaving them at an equally nice, friendly local establishment?Would you rather board your pet at a national chain or a mom %26amp; pop pet hotel?
You should go and check all of your options out. If they're proud of what they do and how well they take care of the animals, they'll have no problem giving you information and a tour of the facilites. Be weary of places that prohibit tours, they may not want you to see something going on! Also ask them about health questions, such as do they also work with a vet? how is everything cleaned and how often? are there any medications that they won't administer? and what's thier schedule like on a typical day? also ask how well they monitor the animals - i've worked in boarding places that go as far as having security cameras in the rooms where the animals stay and mark down how much they eat and even when and where they go to the bathroom! but also some places only check the animals a few times a day, leaving them alone, sometimes in the dark, which makes it easy for a sickness or other problem go unnoticed for days. Things like that can make a big difference on how comfortable you and your pet feel about working with them.Would you rather board your pet at a national chain or a mom %26amp; pop pet hotel?
Local establishment. Their business is more important to them than a big chain and so will likely take better care of the animals as they can't afford a bad reputation.

As long as the local place has the resources to do the job and not just doing it on the cheap.

Ask your vet for recommendations. They usually know the best places.
I would check out both places. And would ask if they would be willing to show me good reviews from other customers. I would also see if I could let my pet come to visit the staff and hang outand get to play with the staff. Then decide from then to board my pet.
i would check them both out and if they were both equaly nice i would go for the local friendly 1.
