Will the hotel at IP tell you that they are going to freeze up ur credit card?

Will they tell how much??? What is the usual norm... Looking at their website it ssays that they charge you credicad the first night with taxes and everything...

upon checking in they charge the remaining balance and 20 per night deposite...

so after the remaining balace and the 20 deposite pernight, they would still put a freeze on my credit card? Will the hotel at IP tell you that they are going to freeze up ur credit card?
What a hotel will do is get approval (not run a charge, but ';hold'; funds from your card balance) for your entire stay, plus incidentals (this could include parking, phone calls, meals, etc.); a common amount would be $20-$50 per day. This way, if you should charge a meal (or whatever) to your room, they don't have to re-authorize the card.

Simple math:

Your room rate is $100/night, tax is 10%. $100=10% tax is $110.

If you're staying 3 nights, that's $330.

Add $20-$50 (each hotel has their own policy- just ask when you check in) per night in pre-authorized incidentals. We'll say $20/night- for three nights, that's $60.

$330+$60=$390

The hotel's credit card interface will automatically attempt to get authorisation for $390; your credit card company will show this as a ';hold'; if you call them while you stay (for $390).

When you check out, if your bill is less than $390, that amount less your bill will be released within 24-48 hours of departure.

Hope this helps. Will the hotel at IP tell you that they are going to freeze up ur credit card?
Somewhat confusing but will try to answer. When you book directly with a hotel they will charge your credit card immediately the first nights rent. They do not charge your card again until you check out for the nights you stayed. In this case they are also charging a 20 deposit for each night ... now that will be against your remaining rent.

So if the room is 60 a night and you reserved for 5 nights that will be an extra 80 they will initially charge your card. However when you check out that 60 will be reduced to 40 a night since you already paid 20 deposit at the beginning. They do not freeze your card in this case you will be charge 140 plus taxes initially and the balance of 160 when you check out.
The two previous answers, answer this question perfectly.
